VIDEO : What Alexis Mac Allister did when coming up against Moises Caicedo on international duty last night...

Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister was pictured getting the better of former Brighton teammate Moises Caicedo last night.
The two players faced off against each other, as Argentina took on Ecuador in Buenos Aires last night. Mac Allister was the victor the end, the midfielder playing well as the World Champions won 1-0.

And, judging by a picture of a duel between the two of them, the Liverpool man had the beating of Chelsea’s £115m signing as well.

Bursting past Caicedo and leaving him on the floor, you can almost see the hints of a wry smile creep onto Mac Allister’s lips.

That’s for turning Liverpool down, Moises. We always knew we got the better player from Brighton!

Mac Allister shows Caicedo up
In all seriousness, this obviously doesn’t show much at all, it’s just a snapshot from a moment of a game.

But, that doesn’t mean that Liverpool fan won’t enjoy it all the same.

Caicedo’s rejection of the Reds for Chelsea was public and incredibly high profile. Although Liverpool ultimately didn’t seem to be all that bothered, it always hurts to be turned down.

As a result, fans will no doubt be keeping a close eye on Caicedo’s movements in the short-term. With Chelsea struggling and Mac Allister sending him for a hot dog here, there’ll be some schadenfreude going on for sure.

Obviously, Caicedo is a quality player, and he and Mac Allister are good friends, too.

But with their years at Brighton now behind them, they’re rivals for both club and country.

There was news yesterday that Harvey Elliott has actually been valued the same as Caciedo by CIES Football Observatory. On this evidence, we’ve also got a player who’s worth a whole lot more.
