HIGHLIGHTS : WOLVES 1-3 LIVERPOOL: ANDY ROBERTSON AND HARVEY ELLIOTT STRIKE LATE TO GIVE JURGEN KLOPP’S SIDE ALL THREE Points...Liverpool come from behind once again

Liverpool went behind at Wolves in Saturday’s early kick-off, but after a poor first-half they capitalised on some profligate finishing from the hosts to take all three points. Cody Gakpo got Jurgen Klopp’s side on level terms after Mo Salah’s low cross, before Andy Robertson went on a sortie upfield and slotted home past Jose Sa. Harvey Elliott’s deflected effort made it three late on.
Andy Robertson was an unlikely hero as Liverpool struck two late goals to move top of the Premier League table after coming from behind to beat Wolves 3-1 at Molineux.
The hosts had flown out of the traps and snatched the lead on seven minutes when Hwang Hee-Chan fired home the impressive Pedro Neto’s low cross.

Wolves were dominant throughout the first period and continued to look the more likely against the lacklustre Merseysiders, with only Matheus Cunha knowing how he didn’t nod home Neto’s superb cross on 33 minutes.

Liverpool almost levelled just before the break but Mo Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai saw goal-bound efforts blocked.
The visitors were always likely to improve in the second period and they levelled on 55 minutes when Cody Gakpo tapped home Salah’s cross-shot from the right.
Substitute Darwin Nunez almost put the away side in front but his shot was brilliantly kept out by Jose Sa.
Liverpool continued to push and their dominance did eventually tell when Robertson raced on to Salah’s pass to tuck home five minutes from time.
Harvey Elliott’s 20-yard strike then deflected in off Hugo Bueno in stoppage time to seal the points.

The result sees Liverpool move to the summit of the Premier League, a point clear of Manchester City with the rest of the weekend fixtures to come. Wolves are 15th.
Liverpool will now switch attention to a Europa League encounter at LASK on Thursday, before hosting West Ham in the Premier League on Sunday.
Wolves visit Luton on Saturday.

TALKING POINT

Liverpool come from behind once again.

There was a lot of pre-match talk about Liverpool’s poor form when it comes to Saturday lunchtime kick-offs and at half-time, it looked like that hoodoo may haunt them again. However, some choice words - perhaps - from Jurgen Klopp and some key substitutions helped turn the game.
The Reds have made a habit of comeback victories already this season and this will again galvanise belief they can go on to enjoy a successful campaign as they extended their unbeaten run in the top-flight to 16 matches.
Wolves will rue failing to make the most of their first-half dominance with a lack of goals and an inability to keep them out, meaning it could be a long season for Gary O’Neil and co.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Mo Salah (Liverpool). The Egyptian was well-marshalled in the first period but his influence increased as the match wore on. He provided the key passes to notch up two more assists and also had a hand in the third goal.
