Liverpool transfer round-up: Amrabat move 'close'
Liverpool have been very active in the transfer market this summer and further incomings and outgoings are expected at Anfield before the window slams shut on September 1

Liverpool are going through a rebuild this summer as they look to bounce back from a disappointing campaign.

Jurgen Klopp's side failed to secure a top-four finish last season and a number of experienced first-team stars have left Anfield. James Milner, Naby Keita, Roberto Firmino and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have all departed on free transfers.

Jordan Henderson and Fabinho have both made the move to Saudi Arabia, while three new players have been signed as replacements. However, more business is expected before the transfer window slams shut.

Here, Mirror Football takes a look at the latest rumours on the red half of Merseyside.

Toney drops hint

Brentford striker Ivan Toney has hinted that Liverpool are among the clubs he is interested in joining once he returns to action.

Toney is currently serving an eight-month ban after admitting 232 breaches of FA gambling rules and will return to playing in January. In an appearance on the Diary of a CEO podcast, the forward said he would be interested in joining a "top" team and proceeded to name-check Liverpool along with Arsenal and Manchester United.

"Everyone wants to play at the top of the tree," he said. "Not that Brentford aren't there, but everyone wants to play for these big clubs and compete for trophies. If a chance was to come along, I would be silly not to look into it.

"The manager knows that I want to play at the highest level possible and whenever that time comes, so be it. My time at Brentford has been probably the best of my career. The next club I go to will be the right club. I am a Liverpool fan my whole life."
