HIGHLIGHTS : Wrexham 3 — 1 Manchester United as Manchester United side suffered their first defeat of the pre-season with a 3-1 loss in their US tour

A young Manchester United side suffered their first defeat of the pre-season with a 3-1 loss to Wrexham in San Diego.
Manchester United were beaten in their second pre-season friendly of their US tour.

United's side was a youthful one comprised mainly of academy prospects, with a meeting with Real Madrid in Houston to come for Erik ten Hag's more expreienced players in less than 24 hours.

The Reds found themselves two goals down in the first half but a strike from Marc Jurado on the stroke of half-time cut the Welsh side's lead in half.

Reds goalkeeper Nathan Bishop was the pantomine villain of the first half after fouling Wrexham talisman Paul Mullin, forcing him off with an oxygen mask. Bishop was routinely booed by Wrexham's fans and a short while later was partially to blame for the opponents' opening goal of the game.

United ended the game with 10 men after their captain on the night, Dan Gore, was harshly shown a straight red just two minutes into the second half, and they could not find an equaliser after Jurado's strike, with Wrexham's two-goal lead restored later on in the second half.
