Arsenal have been active in the transfer market this summer and appear to be on the verge of confirming two huge new signings as Mikel Arteta continues to strengthen his squad.

After an impressive campaign last season, Arsenal are making waves in the transfer market as Mikel Arteta looks to build on their success with some big moves.

The Gunners have already forked out an initial £65m to sign Kai Havertz from Chelsea and several other big money moves are close, including a record deal for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.

There have also been numerous departures from the Emirates, with Granit Xhaka joining Bayer Leverkusen after seven years in North London, Pablo Mari's loan move to Monza becoming permanent and academy graduate Ainsley Maitland-Niles leaving on a free.

And with several more incomings and outgoings expected, here is all the latest Arsenal transfer news.

Ex-PSG chief demands Mbappe is sold
Kylian Mbappe would reportedly be open to joining Arsenal if he leaves Paris Saint-Germain and they have been urged to sell the forward "for the good of the club" by former chief Leonardo.

Mbappe has announced that he will not be signing a new contract with PSG and branded the club "divisive", leading former sporting director Leonardo to claim they must sell him this summer. "For the good of PSG, I think the time has come for Mbappé to leave, whatever happens," he told L’Equipe.

"Paris-Saint-Germain existed before Kylian Mbappé and will exist after him. Due to his behavior in the last two years, Mbappé has shown that he is still not a player capable of really leading a team. He is a great player, not a leader. He is a great goalscorer, not a playmaker. It is difficult to build a team around him."

Timber's brother appears to confirm Arsenal switch
Along with Rice, the signing of defender Jurrien Timber from Ajax appears to be imminent after his brother shared an image on Instagram of an apparent goodbye party.

Shamier Timber had the picture up on his Instagram story for around an hour before it was deleted showing what looked to be party decorations. There was an image of Timber in an Arsenal shirt with the words: "Jurrien's Goodbye party! See you in the streets of London."

The Gunners have agreed a £45m fee with Ajax, after the player rejected a switch to Manchester United last summer when former Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal warned him it could damage his chances of being involved at the World Cup.
