Liverpool set to ‘close’ €25m deal after Klopp’s specific ‘wish’ to beat Man Utd in transfer…

According to reports, Liverpool are ‘about to close the €25m transfer’ of Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch amid interest from Man Utd.
The Reds have been heavily linked with the Dutchman in recent months. He earned himself a big move last summer as he joined Bayern Munich from Ajax but this transfer has not gone to plan so far.

The 21-year-old was restricted to just three starts in the Bundesliga during his debut campaign and his lack of game time has fuelled talk that he could leave Bayern Munich after just one season.

Liverpool are looking to sign one or two more midfielders after completing a bargain deal to bring in Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton.

The Premier League giants are said to be admirers of Gravenberch and they are ‘more advanced’ than Man Utd in the battle for his signature.

Spanish outlet Fichajes are now reporting that Liverpool are ‘about to close’ this transfer for a fee in the region of €25m.

Liverpool are ‘ready to back Jurgen Klopp’s wishes regarding the signing’ and ‘talks are ongoing’. Gravenberch is viewed as a ‘valuable addition’ and the player is ‘open’ to a move to Anfield this summer.

A comprehensive discussion involving Sport1’s Kerry Hau indicates that Gravenberch “is not happy” and he would be “very interested” in a move to Liverpool.

“If you give that many interviews saying that you are not happy with your situation, I don’t think you are with your head at Bayern Munich 100 percent,” Hau told RedMen TV.

“I know that they [Gravenberch and his camp] spoke in February with Liverpool and he is very interested to try and join Liverpool and go into the Premier League.

"It’s a very difficult situation right now. They will speak and you have to communicate and have a clear plan, because last season he joined Bayern because they promised him to be a starter, to gain confidence and also the possibility to go with the Netherlands to the World Cup.

“In the end, he didn’t play for Bayern Munich and he didn’t go to the World Cup. He became frustrated and already told some teammates he is not happy in Munich and would like to leave.

“It’s always a sign for a player that if he speaks in public that you are not happy, and it wasn’t only one interview, it’s five or six interviews.

“Bayern Munich know he’s keen to do something different if Tuchel doesn’t count on him as a regular starter.”
