According to Football Insider, Liverpool are interested in acquiring the services of Khephren Thuram. The 22-year-old midfielder has been on their radar for a while now and they have finally started making moves to sign him.

Thuram has made quite a name for himself over the past 12 months. He has put in consistent performances for OGC Nice in the Ligue 1. And, his performances have attracted a lot of attention.

The 22-year-old defensive midfielder came through the ranks at Monaco before making a move to the French club. He joined them back in the summer of 2019 and has since gone from strength to strength.

As far as the recently concluded season is concerned, the French Under-21 star featured in 48 matches. He was on the pitch for over 3,700 minutes. Despite featuring as a defensive midfielder in the majority of the matches, the 22-year-old managed 10 goal contributions.

His performances caught the eye of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and they have been monitoring him for a while. The Merseyside club struggled in the 2022-23 season due to an inconsistent midfield and they are pushing for a midfield overhaul ahead of next season.

They have already acquired the services of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and are now are looking to land the 22-year-old in their ranks. Liverpool have initiated talks with OGC Nice as they look to strike a deal for Thuram’s services.

The Merseyside giants have been in dialogue with the French club and they will continue talks with them. While his contract with the French club runs until the summer of 2025, they are open to the idea of letting him leave if they receive the right price.

Nice are hoping for a bidding war for the 22-year-old as they look to get the best possible deal. After recent negotiations, Liverpool believe they can strike a deal for the French Under-21 star. However, they have identified Ryan Gravenberch as a backup option, just in case, the Thuram deal falls apart.
