Report: Liverpool start transfer talks to sign ‘phenomenal’ French midfielder as Club accept he'll be sold....

Liverpool are starting talks to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone alongside Alexis Mac Allister.
Borussia Mönchengladbach star Manu Kone is now emerging as a top Liverpool target for the summer transfer window.

That is according to report from Sport Bild reporter Christian Falk over in Germany.

Falk took to Twitter late on Tuesday night to report that Liverpool have now started talks to sign Kone.

Falk added that Kone could now become the top alternative to Jude Bellingham as Liverpool seek a box-to-box midfielder.

Liverpool are already pressing ahead with a deal to sign Brighton and Hove Albion star Alexis Mac Allister.

That move is expected to go through but Liverpool were always going to target two or three midfielders this summer.

Kone now appears to be target number two for Liverpool after shining in Germany.

Fabrizio Romano adds that Liverpool are ‘already informed’ on a deal for Kone and all parties feel there is a real chance for a deal

Kone hails from Colombes in France, a suburb of Paris.

The midfielder started out with Paris FC and Boulogne-Billancourt before heading to Toulouse in 2016.

That’s where Kone really started to accelerate and he showed huge promise before a 2021 move to Gladbach.

Kone, 22, is very confident in terms of turning defence into attack with his driving runs from midfield.

The Frenchman is comfortable in tight areas, loves to put in a tackle and is a real box-to-box player.

Kone hasn’t really been an attacking force, managing just one goal and one assist this season.

Former Premier League goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer has been dazzled, calling Kone a ‘phenomenal’ player.

Jurgen Klopp and co seemingly agree with Liverpool now in talks to lure Kone to Anfield this summer, potentially joining Mac Allister in a new-look Reds midfield.
