Liverpool will be looking to grab a Champions League spot by the end of the Premier League season but to try to achieve that they will have to wait for Manchester United and Newcastle to lose points and will need to defeat Aston Villa at Anfield.

The hosts are currently sitting fifth in the standings with 62 points, one behind Manchester United, who have one game in hand. Newcastle, the standout team of the season in England, are still in third position, with 65 points.

Jürgen Klopp’s men have moved into the European places after winning their last six league games, overtaking the now sixth-placed Tottenham.

Aston Villa

Meanwhile, Aston Villa will go into the game against Liverpool with less pressure than their opponents.

The Villans would need almost a miracle to grab one of the European spots, as they would need to win all of their three remaining games and hope that Liverpool lost all their clashes.

Klopp’s men know there’s no margin for error at this stage of the competition, and they will need to win their final games to stand a chance of being in the Champions League next season.
