Liverpool XI vs Manchester City: Confirmed Lineup, injury latest news for Premier League Match Today

Luis Diaz is not yet ready to make his injury comeback for Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp provided an injury update ahead of the trip to Manchester City.

The Colombian winger has not played since October due to a knee injury but is now undertaking a gradual return to training.

Klopp said on Friday: “It's fantastic to have him back, but he will not train today with us.

“This week was the first step back into team training. Next week we will increase that. It looks really promising, we're in the final stages.”

Another player who could be missing in Manchester is Kostas Tsimikas after he suffered a chest injury while playing for Greece, being forced off in the first half of their friendly against Lithuania.

Darwin Nunez is due to return to the squad from an ankle injury that kept him out of Uruguay duty. However, given his lacklustre displays against Bournemouth and Real Madrid he could find himself on the bench regardless.

Thiago Alcantara is out but will return to training next week with Naby Keita another absentee due to a fresh muscle concern. Joe Gomez is also due to be unavailable.

Stefan Bajcetic and Calvin Ramsay are out for the rest of the season.
