Manchester United host Everton today in the first fixture of another busy Premier League weekend.
The Saturday lunchtime kick-off at Old Trafford is a chance for Erik ten Hag’s side to pile the pressure on the likes of Newcastle and Tottenham, with their rivals for a top-four finish and Champions League qualification not in action until later in the afternoon.
After bouncing back from a listless defeat at St James’ Park with a Marcus Rashford-inspired win over Brentford in midweek, United just need to avoid a loss here to leapfrog Newcastle into third and provide more of a gap to Spurs, who are chasing from fifth.
But Ten Hag will definitely be eyeing another victory over an Everton side that remain outside the relegation zone on goal difference only heading into the game.
