Liverpool have dismantled Manchester United 7-0 in a historic drubbing at Anfield.
Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah each scored two goals before Roberto Firmino added a seventh.

Liverpool move up to fifth place, just three points behind Tottenham in fourth with a game in hand.

The defeat stands as United's worst ever in the Premier League.

Salah: I was always chasing Fowler's record
Mohamed Salah on breaking Robbie Fowler's club record for career Premier League goals: "It’s very special, I can’t lie. This record was in my mind since I came here. After my first season I was always chasing that record so to get it today against Manchester United with that result is unbelievable. I’m going home to celebrate with the family, and have a chamomile tea and sleep.

"It’s very special to win a game like that with that result. At the same time I don’t want us to go to the next game with overconfidence or something, we just need to stay humble and play and win the games. We are not in the position we want to be but hopefully this will give us a good push and make us keep winning."

Jordan Henderson: 'A fantastic day for everyone'
"A fantastic day for everyone. Our performance level, from every single player was top quality today. It’s something that we’ve been missing for a while, but I think today you could see the energy levels and everything was back.

"The last few games, with the results and clean sheets, that we’re on the right path and today was a proper performance."

Nearly a century since United have lost like this
This wasn't just Manchester United's worst loss in the Premier League era.

This defeat goes down as the club's joint-heaviest ever competitive defeat, alongside 7-0 losses to Wolves in December 1931, Aston Villa in December 1930 and Blackburn Rovers in April 1926.

Historic result in historic rivalry
This is Liverpool's biggest-ever competitive win against Manchester United, surpassing their previous best which was set back in October 1895, a 7-1 victory in the second tier when United was known as Newton Heath
