Sources: Arsenal reach agreement in principle on £80m Bukayo Saka deal
Arsenal have reached an agreement in principle with Bukayo Saka over a new contract worth £80million, sources have told Football Insider.
Saka has agreed to a new five-year deal with the Gunners that will see him earning a base salary of £220,000-per-week.

The deal is worth up to £300,000-per-week including bonuses.

The 21-year-old’s previous deal was set to expire in June 2024 but he has now agreed an extension that will see him remain at the club until 2028.

Last month (24 February), Football Insider revealed that the winger had agreed to a contract extension worth £57million that would see him earning in excess of £200,000-per-week.

Now, this site has learned that Saka’s wages will be £220,000-a-week, with the possibility of earning up to £300,000-a-week, and will see him become one of the top earners at the London club.

The winger had been attracting interest from Man City, with Pep Guardiola previously insisting that the youngster has a “bright future”.

But, the Gunners believe they have managed to fend off interest in their star man by tying him down to a new, long-term deal.

The England international grew up in Arsenal’s Hale End academy and spent ten years in the youth system before breaking into the first team in 2018.

Since then, Saka has made 169 appearances for Arsenal and has scored 36 goals and provided 39 assists.

The talented attacker has also been excelling at international level, earning his ninth man of the match award in 26 games for the national side for his part in the 2-0 victory over Ukraine (26 March).
