Report: Arsenal 'ready' to start talks to sign £19m Real Madrid talent compared to Messi

It has been reported that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are keen on a transfer involving Real Madrid loanee Brahim Diaz in the summer.
This comes from Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, as the 23-year-old’s loan spell at AC Milan is set to come to an end at the end of the season.

Now, it seems like Arsenal are plotting a transfer for Brahim Diaz, who looks no closer to becoming a first-team regular at Real Madrid anytime soon.

It seems as if while AC Milan are willing to go through with the option of signing Brahim Diaz on a permanent basis, their transfer rivals are Arsenal, who are ‘ready’ to open negotiations and present an offer.

Alongside the challenge of trying to negotiate with Carlo Ancelotti’s side to reduce the £19.4 million fee, another tough task for the club is that they could miss out on Champions League football, sitting just a point above Roma in 4th place in the Serie A table.

Arsenal, on the other hand have a financial advantage over the Rossoneri, whilst being guaranteed to play in Europe’s elite competition and potential Premier League champions, which should entice Brahim Diaz when it comes to the reported transfer.

IN OUR VIEW: ARSENAL CAN AIM HIGHER
Sure, Mikel Arteta has worked alongside the Spaniard at City in the past and could develop him into a potentially world-class player.

But considering Arsenal have one of, if not the most exciting football project in the world, this particular swoop would be a case of the club underestimating their own pull.

The Gunners can and should look for more established players or bigger talents that look destined to reach the absolute top instead.
