Arsenal will come up against Crystal Palace in the Premier League tomorrow afternoon. Having just been knocked out of the Europa League, the sole focus for Mikel Arteta is now the Premier League – where his side are top.
The gap between first and second stands at five points but the Gunners have the opportunity to make that 8 in this match, since City are playing in the FA Cup instead this week.
To maximise his chances, Arteta will want to field a strong lineup. On Twitter, Arsenal have been trolled for losing players through injury in the midst of their Europa League exit. However, some amazing injury news has broken today.
According to Metro, Arsenal have been given the all clear for three players who were thought to be injured from that Sporting match. Gabriel, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Leandro Trossard all received knocks in the match, but the report from Metro claims all three of them are fit and ready to start tomorrow.
Having these three players back is a further boost for Mikel Arteta, as it’s also been predicted that star striker Gabriel Jesus is set to start his first Premier League match since returning from injury. More on that below.
However, Takehiro Tomiyasu is ruled out (not the end of the world) and it’s a race against time for William Saliba. Furthermore, Eddie Nketiah remains injured and Mohamed Elneny won’t feature for a while.
So, overall, it’s good news for Arsenal. They’ll hope that William Saliba is ready in time for tomorrow’s match as he’s been a crucial player for them throughout this season. However, from a fans’ perspective, the fact that he isn’t ruled out yet shows it’ll only be one game maximum that he misses.
