£45m player could move this week, Liverpool 'well informed' as Klopp needs reinforcements After Brighton Lose- Romano

The agents of Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge are on full alert, amid heavy interest from a number of Premier League teams – including Liverpool.
According to a report by TV 2 Sport journalist Arilas Ould-Saada, while the Blades are yet to receive an official bid for the 24-year-old, they are set to receive one imminently.

Fulham are reportedly willing to make an offer worth £45.4m for the Norway international, while the likes of Newcastle United and Brighton are also interested.

It is said the player’s agents have arrived in London, and they are on full alert ahead of a potential deal.

As per a report from The Mirror (29/01, p77), the Reds and Chelsea would also be keen to land the midfielder before the transfer window shuts tomorrow night.

Currently, it appears Fulham are the side leading the race to sign Berge before the transfer deadline passes tomorrow night.

Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol claims the Whites are in talks with Sheffield United over a £20m move, with the player having entered the final 18 months of his deal at Bramall Lane.

With Liverpool’s long-standing interest in the midfielder, it begs the question whether they’re going to make a last-minute bid to sign him.

Berge has previously said how he dreams of playing at Anfield, so it can be assumed he would pick the Reds over the likes of Fulham.

Jurgen Klopp desperately needs to sign a midfielder before tomorrow’s deadline, and so far, it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen.

The Norwegian would be the most realistic shot at a signing, as the Blades need to sell the player for financial reasons.

Therefore, the Merseyside outfit should make an official approach swiftly, as the squad really could do with an extra body for the second half of the season.
