Arsenal completed a stunning second-half comeback to beat West Ham 3-1 at Emirates Stadium and go seven points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Said Benrahma stunned the league leaders by putting West Ham in front from the penalty spot after William Saliba's foul on Jarrod Bowen but, after Arsenal had a penalty award of their own overturned by VAR in first-half stoppage time, Mikel Arteta’s men produced an emphatic response.
Bukayo Saka equalised in the 53rd minute when he coolly converted from Martin Odegaard's mishit shot and Gabriel Martinelli fired past Lukasz Fabianski at the near post six minutes later.
Eddie Nketiah, starting at centre-forward in Gabriel Jesus’ injury absence, spun Thilo Kehrer to dispatch a wonderful third and open up a gap ahead of Newcastle in second. Champions Manchester City, who play Leeds on Wednesday, are eight points behind the Gunners with a game in hand.
